The Charter

A simple, visual and shareable framework

The Underground Ethics Charter is the result of collective work that began in October 2024, bringing together more than 25 actors from the Montréal underground scene. It consists of 10 ethical mantras — simple, memorable, grounded in real experience on the dancefloor.

It's not a rulebook imposed from the outside. It's a co-built framework, designed to be displayed at events, shared with teams and lived on the dancefloor.

Co-built by the community

Not imposed from above: it emerged from conversations between organizers, artists, volunteers and participants. Its legitimacy comes from that.

The charter is distributed free of charge to all underground event organizers in Montréal who wish to adopt it.

The Charter is co-created, not imposed. As an organizer, you're a natural relay — sharing the mantras with your team and regulars creates a common language and a shared posture before anyone even hits the dancefloor.
