On Thursday, October 17, 2024, S.O.U.L (Spirit Of Underground Living) MONTREAL invites you to a discussion and training workshop on the composition and adoption of a code of values and good conduct in Montreal’s underground scene.
Throughout 2024, many women participating in dance events have reported a significant degradation of their safety and personal space in the heart of large crowds.
This directly affects their sense of well-being and personal security, limiting their ability to let go and fully enjoy the party around them, due to constant stress and the need to remain on guard.
ECONOMIC ASPECT:
As an event organizer, DJ, artist, or promoter, this impacts the entire party industry by compromising the spirit of celebration. However, it’s possible to counter this by implementing a system of volunteer sentinels who maintain a good atmosphere and know how to intervene in cases of misconduct.
WE MUST PROTECT THE PARTY!
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, between 6PM and 8PM, a FREE workshop will be held where your ideas and experience will be sought for the adoption of a desired code of conduct that will be available and accessible to all organizers, establishments, and people of goodwill.
The OCTOV collective will be present to showcase their approach to implementing SAFE SQUAD teams as a model for direct intervention.Additionally, the organization SOCIAL COLLECTIF will be present with the ORDER AN ANGEL project to present their sentinel training and accreditation program, aimed at event organizers.
